TCI BeachBuddies
TCI BeachBuddies is a privately owned souvenir store located on the second floor of the Providenciales International Airport (Departure Lounge) in the Turks & Caicos Islands. TCI BeachBuddies theme is inspired by the symbols on the TCI flag and the Coat of Arms.

'Cactus' - The indigenous Turk Head Cactus was found on all the islands and small cays of the TCI. Now the majority of the Cactus is restricted to the Eastern Cays. The popular story told, is that the name "Turks" is derived from this plant as its vibrant red top resemble the Turkish "Fez" hat.

'Jack The Pelican' - The Brown Pelican represents the Turks & Caicos National Bird which coincidently also nests in the wetlands of the Turks and Caicos Islands and can be seen in almost all the islands and small cays.

'Zora the Flamingo' - The flamingo is one of the popular species found in wildlife in the Turks & Caicos. The vast majority of the flamingos can be seen on the islands of North Caicos, Middle Caicos, South Caicos and Grand Turk. The importance of the fIamingos is evidenced by its identification as a protected species in the Turks & Caicos.

'Curly The Lobster' and 'Jazzy the Conch'- The Spiny Lobster (Panilus Argus), and Queen Conch (Strombus gigas) are representative of the importance of the Fishing Industry and its exports to the islands. The Fishing Industry replaced the salt trade many years ago as the mainstay and provided products for exports. To this day, the fishing industry continues to provide a means of livelihood for the fishermen in the islands.

The Beach Buddies characters signify the rich cultural and natural heritage of the Turks & Caicos. They illustrate and bring awareness of the key components of our indigenous flora and fauna.
